Spennymoor

Currently, the centre of Spennymoor does not suffer from congestion problems and it is the intention of the Local Transport Plan to maintain this situation. However, 2,500 people are currently employed on the Green Lane Industrial Estate where problems are experienced during peak hours. It is therefore proposed to:

• Carry out surveys of industrial estate employees to establish the pattern and times of journeys to and from work.
• Undertake provision of bus shelters and enhanced timetable information to assist the operation of buses through the town, particularly from Tudhoe Village - town centre - Middlestone Moor.
