Childminding

Our childminding service is designed to help and support children and their families during a time of hardship and crisis. It can give parents time to concentrate on other family issues that may need attention, to spend time with other members of the family or simply give them time for themselves. If your family is assessed as needing a sponsored childminder we will arrange for a registered childminder, who lives close to your home or is able to offer transport, to care for your child.

Their registration involves checking that they are suitable people to be childminders; that their home is suitable and safe environment for young people; checking their health and experience of looking after children and police checks on the childminder and any other person over 16 years of age in the household

For details of childminders, please see our Community Information Online.

How much will it cost?

We may be able to pay for this service if neither parent is working; otherwise you will be required to make a contribution to the cost.
