It also includes countywide, regional and national information - all relevant to people who live and work in County Durham.

It is is managed by Culture and Leisure, and Social Care and Health staff. The information is reviewed annually to make sure accurate information is available. However, we do rely on the organisations listed telling us if there have been changes to their information between review periods. We make every effort to maintain the database but cannot accept liability for any inaccuracy in the information provided to us.

This information is also available in libraries in County Durham and a number of touch screen versions also sited in various centres throughout County Durham.

The Directions Information Service is a telephone helpline which can provide you with information on a wide range of subjects. They hold over 200 subject headings from specialist holidays to support groups and clubs.

Libraries provide a range of local and community information on a variety of topics from benefits to careers and local events.

The Children's Information Service in Durham is part of SureStart County Durham. The service provides detailed information to members of the public on everything to do with childcare. For example, the service holds information on all childcare services available in County Durham, which includes information on childminders, nurseries, playgroups, out of school clubs and much more. The service can also provide information on careers in childcare.
